Galway is the place to be this Easter weekend. Galway Food Festival returns from March 24th-28th and the theme this year coincides with the Easter Rising Centenary Programme. The festival will be a celebration of 100 Years of Irish Food.
Draft plans include an extended food trail, cookery demonstrations at the Druid Theatre and an expansion of the eclectic programme of Food Tours including trips to the Aran Islands and to the Burren.
There will again be lots of in-house events including pop-ups, cocktail masterclasses, wine and whiskey tastings and a schedule of talks on a range of topical issues in the food and drink industry.
Festival organisers are keen to build on Galway’s growing reputation as a Food Capital of the Wild Atlantic Way, through the extended involvement of food producers, suppliers and outlets along the Western seaboard.
Last year saw more than 78,000 people attend the festival. More than 100 restaurants, food outlets and food producers got involved. This year is sure to be bigger and better than ever,
